I don't know much about computers, not even my own. My dad set up all the basic components and i essentially just use it to decant recently taken photographs onto and then browse the internet. My laptop recently crashed due to having a ridiculously full hard drive and dad had to set up all the basic components again. This time, there's a small tool in the top right corner that randomly slideshows through all the image files on my computer. About 4 years worth of photographs that were barely looked at at the time.

Tiny memories I thought I'd forgotten about.

I think I'm being haunted.

about today

Something has changed around here. And thus far it seems to be working. I will be seeing my tutor today. Hopefully he'll agree.

young blood

Today I got my first ever filling. I feel old and decrepit. Like my last last glimmer of unadulterated, natural youthfulness has been shattered.

These sounds and images ratify the gap.

drawings of photos

Or rather, photos of drawings of photos.

i'm still here

Beginning to feel slightly more creative after being in somewhat of a rut for the past few weeks. Sometimes all it takes it just to force yourself to make something, anything. Just to get the ball rolling. Maybe everything will fall into place eventually.

back to the future

Tonight while aimlessly browsing the interweb I discovered photographer Irina Werning and her charming project BACK TO THE FUTURE.

This is what she says about it;

"I love old photos. I admit being a nosey photographer. As soon as I step into someone else’s house, I start sniffing for them. Most of us are fascinated by their retro look but to me, it’s imagining how people would feel and look like if they were to reenact them today... A few months ago, I decided to actually do this. So, with my camera, I started inviting people to go back to their future."

anisocoria

This has happened to my eyes about 2-3 times a week or the past 6 or so years.
Usually a little after midnight, when I start to get tired.

Various opticians and doctors have told me not to worry about it. Its nothing.

Google tells me I probably have a brain tumour.

new york

So this is all I can currently muster of my recent trip to The Americas, despite there being way much more to muster.

Coney Island was my favourite. More on that later. Perhaps.

My sleep pattern has screwed itself up in the opposite direction from before. The time is currently 6.20am and I have yet to sleep.

I have however now managed to make sense of those essay topics. Feeling marginally well put together now.

I plan to make good use of studio time in a couple of hours (perhaps post-nap).

I'm craving canvas and wood.
The process and repetition of constructing a stretcher.
Then the ever-enduring aroma of turpentine.
Having horrible, grubby fingernails for weeks.

Its been too long.

double vision

I spent the morning fucking up Jen's childhood memories.

Photoshop the old fashioned way; photocopier, scissors, pritt stick and crayola colouring pencils.
